September 6, 2013

To the editor: Most of us have watched our local government with embarrassment and disappointment. It has never been a more critical time that the elected officials stand up to guide our city....

Oh Litebulb....Your election connections are not working. You don't even know what position Burch is running for. It certainly is not for Mayor.

Burch wants the tax payers to act like Seinfeld's stooge friend George Costanza.

George was the unsure paranoid psychotic friend who had a philosophy to respond in an opposite manner from what he thought. In other words after you gather your facts on who to vote for vote in direct opposition to your thoughts and vote for Burch. I am seriouly worried about a man like this who wants to be mayor again. This time not appointed but voted for by the rational voting majority. He was beaten solidly when he tried after his appointed stint as mayor by 63%. He has not changed an iota. Was not good when he was mayor and will not be this time either.

Burch - he stole the mayoral seat and abused it. Raised taxes 65% and threw people out of meetings he didn't like. A disgrace!!! Burch Understands... how to ruin a good city and give the unions everything.

How nice of you to slander McGrail MR MAYOR! Thank the Lord we will not have to watch you NOT have control over meetings much longer. McGrail, Sawicki, and Burch have more integrity in their pinky fingers than you could ever muster.

Lightswitch: If you had been at the other forums you would know that most of the candidates had to have questions repeated at least once. Why aren't you reporting that? I do live in 6/7 - can't wait for the UEP to start. Finally, please learn to spell Burch's name correctly. You are a well educated man and should know that.

Utility project biggest nut in the city posed to BANKRUPT homeowners owning houses or lots in SW 6-7.

Why because the COST is too high even with sharp pencils (?), low interest rates, etc.

We watch a governor come to SW Fl. commit $90 million dollars on a 2.5 mile bridge project to let water flow to the Everglades.

He in the snap of fingers gets FEDERAL FUNDS and the project melts to $45 million.

So our homeowners have $17K and up loans which if we had fed help could met to half. $8k for the lot + $8k for the assessment. It then becomes financially practical.

But we heard Fed money has too many strings attached.

Get attached! Get Federal EPA Funds, Get a SOLVENT city. A + B = C.

PS. I own no land or house in SW 6-7. But I know screwing people's lives in that area gives the rest of us more costs to carry and higher taxes.

I have experienced Burche and know the reason he LOST by 63% when he ran for mayor. Now he wants to be city councilman? He was nothing, did nothing (except sell a business that did the design work for the biggest and most flubbed utility project in probably all of Florida.

Sawicki I have listened to and come up with cute rhetoric and nothing more.

Her presentation at the Veterans Museum was poorly executed. She froze in her own thought process for 20 seconds.

Then nothing but rhetoric with no substance of ideas on how to make the city correct its ills and there are plenty.

Why? so she can take the place of Bertolini and vote with Burch to raise our taxes 93% again. Not an original thought between them. LMore love affair with the unions. Look at who is contributing to their campaigns.

McGrail has been bought and paid for already, want to give the unions more votes.
