Rumor has it McGrail has tenatively contracted for a new sign on the police station with his new found friends in Alabama. You know the friend who will establish a public/private partnership in the billboard/sign and busstop shelter business.

Yeah as I said rumor has it the sign will read........HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

CLASS WARFARE!! All the RAG posters have a common theme: blame the 1,200 city workers (not all are IN a union---this is a Right-To-Work State). Are RAGs suggesting that those 1,200 workers should support the 165,000 city? The oath “To Protect and Serve” or term “Public Servant” does NOT mean a lower class or servitude. We no longer have a ‘Servant Class’ in this country, or indentured servants, and Lincoln freed the slaves. Having a boat-load of money does NOT entitle RAGs to threaten, belittle, menace, and condemn their fellow citizens! Now we have people claiming that THEY are the judge of how much and when our employees should be paid! Shame on YOU, RAGs!!! This man was a disgrace as a mayor. What would be said by naming anything after him. He should rest in peace!

City of Cape Coral Public Service Building. There should not be one street, park or anything else named after someone. Want a building named after yourself, then you build it with your own money.

It is an error to name something after someone who is still alive. Just ask Jacksonville about their fountain!

Here’s the truth. When you do something, anything: volunteering, working, supporting, your city and your neighborhoods, you are, hopefully and supposedly, doing it for the benefit of your fellow citizens, not because you hope that somewhere down the road they will name a street, beach, park, or building after you!

What is this moose dung about naming the Police Department Building after one man? I don’t know Roger Butler and don’t care what he has done. The Police Department building should be named just THAT to honor ALL the men and women who have walked the Blue Line to protect the citizens of Cape Coral! Period. You want a giant blue sign on the CCPD that says “Butler Building”? No heffing way! That building was bought and paid for by ALL the people of Cape Coral to accommodate ALL the outstanding, valiant, brave officers that put their lives on the line for us every day. Such a building should NEVER be named after some lame politico. David Wagoner, who works at CCPD, and Lee Sheriff’s Deputy Andrew Widman, who-lived in Cape Coral, took bullets to protect us! Widman died! If naming the building after someone deserving is so important to you—why not name it after them? But, oh wait . . . . they are just the worker bees and they don’t matter in the big scheme of things, right?
