@lightswitch: Well, again your attempts to mislead and outright lie about City road repairs has been outed. Last night the City Manager laid out, once again I may add, a 6.5 million dollar multi-year road repair plan. There is no excuse for a liar like you, unless of course, that's right, you are a RAG! It's just killing you guys, isn't it? Bwahahahaha!

He Lightswitch. Did you get your check from the City from the UEP? Kind of shoots down the thought that all contingency fees are never returned. Always provided just your opinion. Have to run now...to the bank with my check.

Credit card spending took a lot of the middle class to bankruptcy. Did you hear about Detroit filling bankruptcy. Yep, here we go UN AGENDA 21 BANKRUPTCY FOR CAPE CORAL COMING TO YOUR STREET VERY SOON. When one is set financially, making $200,000 plus a year one doesn't live in the real world of day to day stretching the penny. If you look at what jobs were reported that opened or requested a lic. to do business in the city you will find out 1) cleaning companies, 2) lawn mowing 3) property management 4)etc. That is in Cape Coral. Other cities report big time companies setting shop. What comes to CC? TAXES.

@Avatar: Nobody knew about the UEP. Nobody was told about the UEP. Nobody wants fire hydrants in their neighborhood. Nobody wants clean, potable water. Nobody wants safe disposal of sewerage. Big business wants to come to a City with septic systems & well water. That's right, ALL LIES, like the ones told by lightswitch & Avatar. UEP ois here to stay, live with it. The rate payers have had it stuck in them long enough by SULLIVAN & LEETZ. Remember rate payers, both SULLIVAN & LEETZ voted NO again to restart the UEP! If they are able to stop the UEP again, the Rate Payers water bills will again GO UP! STOP SULLIVAN & LEETZ BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!

No one ever asked the people in this area if they wanted or needed this project. They just want to spend money that people don't have. Typical politicians!

Dimwit...just because YOU don't care about people and YOU would waste any money but your own don't think that everyone is like you! This is the best interest rate we've seen in years and the work will also employ a lot of people. Go have another drink...or 4 and let the rest of us live in peace!

Mayor Sullivan has no vision beyond that disgusting finger he keeps putting in his nose. There is no better time to move forward than the present while costs are down. There will always be people who can't afford it, no matter the economy. To unseatLeetz and Sullivan in November will put us back on track to become part of the 21st century. Get on with it!

@lightswitch: The whole City knows that Gary King was NOT a City Manager....a position he owes to his RAG buddies. Even the RAGs could not make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Face it, this Council has moved this City 10 years into the future and it is killing you. You wonder about TRUST? The TRUST is there, that's why you see empty seats at Council meetings. That's right, the residents as well as I, do TRUST this Council and again, it is killing you and your fellow RAGS! You's don't understand it and you's can't believe it, but it is TRUE! By the Way, where are the RAG candidates besides Ashby and Williams? Sullivan's and Leetz's days are number...it's time to drain the rest of the SWAMP!

McGrail estimated the project at $104 million. The underestimate I will agree is there. However issue #1 SRF funds are recalculated every quarter and while the Fed says the rates should remain low it still is a crap shoot because the interest rate could rise.

Issue #2 this $102 million dollar project has a 10% contingency fund for cost overruns. If you look at all the projects the Cape has done they seem to spend contingency funds to the penney. I guess what the Slick Six are saying is, "TRUST US." My feeling is why? They have not been forthcoming in the past and show every indication things are the same. McGrail scurrying to use up every TAX dollar old and new. Programs by damned. Example Council unveils $22 million road project (over 5 years). That is only $4.4 million and not the $6.5 million Gary King had told Mc Grail needed to be programmed to take care of the repaved situation in district #6. This is why Erbrick said only 66 miles would be done.
