BOCC is pandering to a voting block of residents by putting on this dog & pony show. The Army corp of Engineers, the Florida Fish and Wilidlife and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection all say no to the "lift." But the BOCC says, let's spend thousands of dollars of Lee County taxpayer money, to show the "Islanders" that we care. Insanity? No stupid.

Lee County has been stiffing Cape Coral for more than 40 years on a variety of issues.

Not that the city of Cape Coral has an unstained record of its own doing.

Personally the two (like spoiled brats) governing bodies, Lee County and Cape Coral need the state of Florida to step in dopew slap the two of them and tell them what to do. This has gone on too long and cost too much money with no solution! Cape Coral and the State have documented scientific data. Use it!

The lift proved to be a hydrological disaster. Plus FDEP has refused to issue a permit to reinstall it.

There is little or no earth on the western side of the spreader to anchor anything to.

Opening a series of canals straight through to Matlacha Pass would relieve the pressure on the southern end of the Spreader.

Maybe the Rosen's were right after all, and the Fed, as usual, were wrong!
