Wonder why your property value is down and yet property taxes are not? Local governments struggle constantly trying to diversify tax revenue? Un-elected groups like this shape public policy for generations to come. Thousands of acres pulled from the tax rolls only serves to make that which remains taxable at a higher rate. The whole conservation movement has been co-opted by TPTB. If you own a few acres of Florida try to place it under a “conservation easement” on your own. It’s not just about conservation my friends. Groups like this have “inserted” their agenda into the whole system without ever running for office. Ballot referendums are not a “Representative Republic” action, rather a democratic ruse, like two wolves and a sheep deciding “What’s for dinner?”
