To the editor: Sometimes when watching the 6 p.m. news, you see/hear things that are just baffling. Tuesday’s broadcast from a local station, had me baffled....

Best and quickest way to find out who the beverage donor(s) the coordinator of the trip. Pretty sure she will tell you quickly. She'll probably give you more information....

JJ Sully.

Guess you enjoyed your "free" glass of wine at the"Mayor's" Scholarship Fund. Who donated the wine....twenty lashes to them. Think "they" are waiting for their return for the free wine??

@lightswitch: This is all to do about nothing. Just like everything the RAG's did. False accusations, contrived allegations, etc. Face it, the new and improved Council, with their progress, have made all the Rag's eat dirt. In the final analysis all you and the rest of your Rag's whinners have are unmitigated, bogus, finger pointing nothings. Bill did us all a great service coming to the podium a couple of weeks ago and reminding us all of how unprofessional and down right mean that evil cabal truly was. Note to Bill: Don't ever change! Just wait until we finish you all off, this coming November election, once and for all.

Sandy1 just the names of the donors please> Let's see who is so interested in making a party bus to the state capital, that's all.

You know Sandy when I posted over 3 years ago about the checks being sent to friends of commissioners in Jefferson County, Alabama by J P Morgan no one was interested. That netted out jail time and $750 million and fines paid to the government by JP Morgan. JP Morgan called it "pay to play". It happens everyday but in baby steps and ends in thefts of millions of dollars. Wht just ask John Meihle. He will give you the scoop on some beauts in California. Why may be even Belle, Ca. Personally I think the Krew that went for the joy ride needs to pay the city back the $300 the donors gave the city. Not the city council individuals. Plus I think the donor needs to explain to the taxpayers what this little gift was given for.

JJ Sully.. You sir above and beyond all ought to have a lesson in ethics. Where were you and your ethics brigade when council was wining and dining on a city buck? Where were you when taxpayers were not allowed to speak during citizens input time because they shared a different religious view than others? Making sexual innuendos about citizens from the Dias could be considered unethical as well. Work ethics could include showing up to work on time. Ethics ethics ethics there just plain everywhere.

JJSully: My only comment to you regarding the Slick Six versus the Fab 5 is as follows. The Slick Six were all duly elected by the People, the Fab 5 came to be by perpetrating a covert arrangement upon the People. Enough said

JJSully, were you on the bus? Do you KNOW they accepted the 'free booze'? At least it wasn't provided by the taxpayers. Where was your concern when former council members and their wives were getting a free dinner paid by the taxpayers? I will go out on a limb and guess that every single council member at some point in their term attended a function in which alcohol, food, or other goodies were provided at no charge. There are much bigger concerns than alcohol being provided at an event three council members attended, along with 20+ non council members, of which the council members in question may or may not have partaken.

Leetz unlike the Slick 6 is not bought and paid for by the unions. Leetz has always put the taxpayers first. I find it interesting that the prime memebers of the Slick 6 feel it is ok to accept some free booze. Nothing in this life is free there is always a cost. Even the hint of unethical behavior needs to be dealt with. Of course if there was such a thing as ethics the Slick Six would not be on the dias.

OH goodness another conspiracy theorist Lightswitch. Good grief. And 1Sandy, I was at that dinner party. Not only did I see Mr and Mrs. Deile, Brandt and his wife with adult beverages (so what, I had one too) lol, but yes, in fact there was a complaint filed, and I know the person who filed it...they had been removed from office so there was no need for the person who filed to cost we the people more money by the violation going forward, so he withdrew it. I'm and I was sick and tired of the hypocrisy. It will end, we just need to vote out 2 more, not vote for any more contract with the cape supporters, and we can finish the task of TAKING BACK THE CAPE! Signed a non union, non family union member. When will the RAGS get it thru nimble minds that everyone who doesn't like them is a union person?

Eileyn, your concern for his defamatory comments towards a peer is right on. Throughout his forgettable tenure on the dais he routinely defames and belittles his fellow council persons to prop up his own agenda. Go back to December 2nd, 2011 for one of his all time command performances. This was the night council decided to relieve Mr. King of his duties as a change agent. Not only was the pitiful district 4 councilman late, but he attacked almost every other person on the dais. All I can say is his time is up and the good people of matter will be at every event, on every corner and at every voting site to see this poor excuse of a councilman and a man be shown the door.

@ lightswitch: Those evil donors. 25 other adults on board a rental bus with a professional & sober driver and no one is allowed to have an adult beverage. Well, here is the scoop, the 3 Council members, while they were sleeping at their hotel, well as the rumor is now being spread, had micro chips embedded in them by the T party followers, so now when they vote, they will vote to diminish quality of life services and fire most, if not all the City "Union" employees and pay the rest minimum wage, and then we will all live happily ever after as honorary RAG's and we will forever be known not as Cape Coma, but as Cape DUMP! BTW, did not the former Council that were RAG's take their wives to an event where taxpayers paid for their wives? Yes, they did. Does this current RAG Mayor have a scholarship event actually held inside the Council lobby where adult beverages are served? Yes, he did & does, for the last 4 years. RAG hypocrisy, alive and well.

I want to know who the donors of the beverages were. Then I would like them to attend a city council meeting and explain why and what their intentions were i making a GIFT of $300 worth of beer, wine, etc. Were there any other gifts awaiting them on their arrival or when they returned home? It would be interesting to see if it was a trade, finance, or service sector. All in all it was poor judgement and makes the trip sound like a bus trip to a baseball or football game for sheer entertainment. This is probably one of the most transparent things this council has shown its residents!

All comments are right on. First though, Leech cannot be alone because his personality seems to be fragmented to the point of clinical multiple personacommelity. Secondly, there is not enough alcohol in all of Cape Coral to make Mr Leech an acceptable candidate for office. Like Ms. Dill, I will await this apology for the long term.

If this so called man is re-elected it will show just how stupid and idiotic the people of Cape Coral are. This man is so self centered and self rightous and judgemental he should be by himself so there is no debate or argument.

Since Leetz rarely, if ever, attends functions, guess he missed the Mayor's Scholarship Fund at Cultural Park Theatre, which by the way, raises monies to help students advance in their studies. There were beverages served and members of Council attended, thank you very much. Leetz was missing, as usual. Everyone who attended demonstrated they are responsible citizens, including the council members. Imagine that. This tirade is just another reminder of what Leetz deems important. Unfortunately for all of us, the important issues do not matter to him.

I wonder if it will be Mr. Miehle, or me, or both that will receive his famous rebuttals next weekend, just like he so not so eloquently attempted to bring down Mr. Perry. Chris, your comments on FOX, they made you appear, small and vindictive. If that was your intention, well played. Otherwise, major fail in the court of public opinion.

Lurch lives by the theory that if he makes someone else look bad it takes the focus off of himself. He has absolutely no redeeming qualities, loves to hear himself talk, and doesn't let facts get in the way of his tirades. People need to remember that at the polls. He on the other hand may want to look a little further into the Buddhism that he claimed to practice when he posted his dating profile.

Sort of reminds me of a big ship sinking. First the drama and panic, followed by a slow disappearance of the vessel and finished by a few bubbles on the surface. Then the bubbles are gone and the vessel is merely a memory of a bad situation.

I like to focus on the laughter and the fab 5 good ole days. When it was cool to wine and dine on city dollars, book the ladies with city phones, and party so hard you can't make it on time to city meetings. Ahh the good ole days... Back when it was ok to administer CPR with a lit cigarette hanging off your lips.
