Award nothing to crow about

February 9, 2013

To the editor: Once again the city of Cape Coral has received an award from The CAFR and the “statesmen” which the public sector unions of Cape Coral have promoted into office are doing “cartwheels......

well well number 1 sandy.you sound like a real rocket scientist, you are apparently a busy body piece of work that enjoys checking peoples background I wonder what a thorough back check on you and yours would reveal.you sound like you are one of those public workers that would be pushing a publix cart and on food stamps if it were not for BO and the govt boys.that is why I got railroaded from the park district because of lying stool pigeons like you. you better check your facts before you step on your weenie.and the next time a copper comes to your house for a domestic dispute it wont be a nose picking boss but a patrolman who you apparently hold in disdain. unlike people like you I got The PR job because I was bored not to*****another pension from the private sector, like you and your "friends".

1sandy I am fine and will have a great retirement, so what is your problem! I believe that we need accountability in local government, and so do many others! I can only guess that you are part of the problem.

Slovejoy... No need for attacks. I simply had a personal curiosity about how a guy goes from pension drawing public servant to *********. Geez.. I would think a brilliant intellectual like yourself could handle him self with a wee bit more decency.

Seems to be happening a lot lately, yet not one has written an LTE about the mundane process of giving pensions back. So instead of attacking me, answer the questions.

Consider this Russian proverb...

Hypocrites kick with there hind feet while licking with there tongues.

@jake2009: So you liked Unions when they worked for you, but not so much in your golden years when they work for others. Funny thing, I looked up the word "Hypocrisy" in the Dictionary and there was a picture of all the RAG's in a group photo. Can't figure that one out. Bawhahahahaha! And you had so much money when you retired, that when you moved to the Cape you applied for a City job. That's right, people. Would you like to elaborate on your tenure as a Cape Park Ranger with the City of Cape Coral, sir? How did that end? Remember, the Freedom of Information on Public Records are available to verify your answer. ROF****! Yep, you are an American success story aren't you? 33 years as a Police Officer and retiring as a Patrolman, what is that, a step above crossing guard? How proud your family must be of you. What an underachiever if there ever was one. Not very many awards for you to "crow" about, eh Mr. Tomacelli?

@SLovejoy: Poor steve, didn't make good choices in life and now that he is in the "golden" years he looks around with disdain and and says, look at these other people who made better choices then I, I hate them. Public employees having more than me and a better quality of life...that's just not right. They all are over paid and for sure under worked. Wah! Wah! Wah! I'll have to work forever because of my poor choices...well in the mean time I'll just dump on these "public servants and try to make myself feel better...yep, that's the ticket. BTW, anyone want to join the Cape Coral Republican Party, Steve is the lol, president. Bawhahahahahaha!

Packer I have to ask you, what is your major malfunction, where you dropped on your head as a child, I do not understand what your defending! I do not see why any tax payer has to pay for over paid public workers, if you want to make more money go to work and get a real job, we owe you nothing as tax payers

"These people we give jobs to, blah blah, blah..." This is precisely where the writers pension comes into play. I want know, others may also want to know... I have a couple of questions for the writer.

Nick, As a Chicago Police officer did you or did you not ever on a City of Chicago time ever eat a hot dog or a donut? Did you knowingly accept city benefits, and were any of them a cost to the tax payer? Did you ever accept an award for services rendered for "doing your job"? If yes was the answer Nick... Did you write an LTE to your local newspaper chastising yourself?

Hypocrisy... Seems to be a popular thing with so many today.

My last word on the subject, Cape Coral better hope and pray that the next mayor is going to be a stand up guy like the present one who will hopefully, watch the peoples money and not spend it on vacant land we dont need or bribe the public sector into citizens disrespect by throwing money at them when they dont need that kind of public standing.

sentence mistake. I did NOT join the cpd for the money.and it is not the pensions that are driving chicago into bankruptcy like Cape Coral but the thieving socialist demos and their policys that are stealing and misusing our contributions. as even here we have to watch those in office. They are not refined.

Well 1sandy who ever you are and I could care less.I as a retired police officer from chicago did not retire as some did with a golden parachute because they were anti union posterior embracing lackeys. but I was retired due to injuries received while arresting a democrat, who hopefully is now in hell, through my help. In 33 years i was not a house mouse or nose picking boss but a street cop. Since I worked before I got on the job and already had some money I did not seek phoney rank for money, as some did. because of a democrat thief called rostenkowski we get the cola but no ss.Oh and I did pass the sgt exam but refused it because I neither needed the money or the aggravation.I did come on the job for the money as some and gave it more blood then any money recieved. And if it weren't for I and a lot of other 'street" coppers we would never have had union, which the K A boss's were against.

@ SLovejoy: Nester is not the one making an issue of the cities strapped for cash. Nicky had his head in the public trough, so he must be held accountable for his goodies too or is it just everyone else is accountable? Where does the writer specifically point out any lies, Steve? All the writer does is dump on an award that the City received from the association of CAFR...typical rag, knee-jerk reaction. BTW Steve, if you can do better, why not run for Mayor or are you all talk and no action? Oh, that's right, you did run for Mayor, but it was more like a crawl...Bawhahahaha. Hey, Nicky, how about YOU running for Mayor or did Sully warn all to keep out! You know Sully, he doesn't get mad, he gets even...Bawhahahaha. What a class "A" joke he is. Somebody go wake him up....Bawhahahaha.

Aw heck give them 100% of their pay. Why it is only 20% more.

Do not compare the 80% to what private sector workers receive after working 45 years.

The U.S. average was for 2011 was $1,200 per month or 2.4%

Everyday that goes by is great! Why because it is going to self destruct.

Look at it this was the $100,000 person at 2.4% still gets $2,400 a month. Not so bad is it? Only working 20 years compared to 45.

The times they are a changing!

So where does writers pension come into play in this letter. The letter was about the lies that the city is telling the people. If you want to talk about pension, or stealing look at Nester, he gets more then he made when he worked, talk about stealing!
