Sunshine Synchro Splash team shines in invitational

The Sunshine Synchro Splash, synchronized swimmers of Cape Coral who practice weekly at the Pine Island Pool, just competed its first synchronized swimming competition of the 2010 season. The 12 swimmers and their families traveled to Tallahassee recently to participate in Florida’s Winter Invitational. “Our swimmers competed in the Novice and Intermediate divisions of the competition,” said coach Wendy Stafford of Cape Coral. Novice swimmers Nicole Cesa and Rebecca Hays took first and second in the 11-12 figures competition and Cordelia Bryant and Morgan Cassaday took first and second in the 10 and Under figures competition. The Sunshine Synchro Splash 11-12 Novice Duets took first and second as well as a first in the 11-12 Trio competition. The 10 and under soloist placed second and the 11-12 Novice team placed first.
