Fifth Third Bank to wrap-up Back to School Drive
Fifth Third Bank will wrap-up its Back to School Drive Friday, Sept. 3, with a radio broadcast and lunch at its south Del Prado Boulevard branch. The Back to School Drive, which kicked off Aug. 16, is a fund-raiser that helps provide backpacks full of supplies for students who are in need of assistance in Lee, Collier, Manatee, Sarasota and Palm Beach counties. Fifth Third Bank works with the Education Foundation to help find students in need. “Through this partnership, Fifth Third Bank hopes to equip children — who might otherwise go without these essentials — with all of the tools and materials they need to go confidently in the direction of their dreams,” said David Call, president and CEO of South Florida Fifth Third Bank, in a prepared statement. This is the second year Fifth Third Bank has held the Back to School Drive, License Personal Banker Erin Garrett said. Last year the bank donated more than 1,000 filled backpacks to students, she added.
