| | Foreclosures and MediationDecember 10, 2009 - Sylvia HeldrethFlorida courts are currently trying to cope with more than 290,000 foreclosure cases. Members of a Florida Foreclosure Task Force have suggested that mediation would be a good way to expedite a flood of mortgage foreclosures. Borrowers would be contacted by phone and mail and asked to participate. The cost, $750 per case, could be split 50-50 between lenders and borrowers. Sounds like it would save time and money.
