Is the recession over?

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has said, "From a technical perspective, the recession is very likely over at this point." Bernanke noted that the economy will remain weak and hinted at continued job losses and unemployment.

The National Association of Realtors reports, "Foreclosures represent 30%-35% of real estate sales. 15% - 20% are short sales.

I've noticed an upswing in the number of real estate closings in my office.
