| | Tiger Does it AainApril 1, 2009 - Steve AndersonThis past Sunday at Bay Hill, Tiger once again showed why he's the greatest player in the game. After a near 9 month lay off due to his knee surgery, Tiger began the final round 5 shots back. On the 18th hole Tiger needed to make a 16 foot birdie putt to win his 6th Bay Hill title and wouldn't you know it, he drained it! It seems throughout his career that Tiger always makes the putt on the last hole when it really matters. I recently saw a new stat on Tiger in a leading golf magazine that is truly unbelieveable. From 2002 until now, 7 years of playing, Tiger had a total of 2700 putts that were in the 3 foot range. He missed...9 of them. 9 ! Wow. That figures out to about 1 missed 3-footer a year. I'm a golf pro and a pretty good putter and I would miss 1 out of 4 from 3 feet and be pleased with that. With my number I would have missed over 500 from 3 feet out of that 2700. Tiger missed 9. It's just another reason why he's better than anyone else out there and I can't wait for the Masters in two weeks. Steve Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
