Welcome to the first post of the Commercial Corner real estate blog.
November 14, 2008 - Gary Tasman
My goal is to provide a forum for educating and informing readers about commercial real estate in Southwest Florida and beyond. Thanks to my affiliation with Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately held real estate services firm, I will be able to bring you pertinent market research and statistics, along with my observations on the local market. At the same time, I hope to bring some levity to a topic that has become less than a laughing matter as market conditions have become increasingly challenging. Nonetheless, I can’t think of any place better to live and work than in Southwest Florida. And because so many people agree, I see the value in providing the most current information on our local market and the elements that influence its development and prosperity. Here’s a little bit about me: I’ve been in the business for more than 25 years..... Of course, there are some things that you won’t get from this column, such as my advice on whether you should buy or sell a specific property. I’ll be glad to discuss generalities, offer tips on buying and selling, and share my expertise. But for the most part, you can expect my opinions and insights on a variety of general and community-specific issues and events related to commercial real estate. You may even get the occasional rant. Above all, I hope to make this a collaborative effort. That’s why I encourage your input. In fact, I’m depending on it. Your comments, opinions and questions are always welcome, so please let me hear from you. Thanks for reading!
