Condominium Associations and Insurance
December 30, 2008 - Sylvia Heldreth
Legislation passed by the last session of the Florida legislature requires condominium associations over a certain size to insure unit owners' air conditioner units, inside and out. The law doesn't require the association to replace the units, but does require the association's insurance to cover the units in the case of a disaster. Association insurance costs are going to go up. Unit owners will have to pay a little more. Is this a good deal? What do you think?
